SSC Exam Cancelled? Students Raise Concerns, Chairman Breaks Silence

The SSC Chairman promised students new examination centres will be opened within 10 days in Delhi and NCR, adding that this step was taken primarily to address the issues faced in the MM centre in Gurgaon”.
SSC Exam Issues 2025: Aspirants angry, glitch everywhere.

The much-awaited SSC CGL exam 2025 turned into a day of chaos. Yes, chaos. Thousands of aspirants walked into exam centres with hope, only to walk out with stress and anger.
At many places, students complained they were denied entry even after reaching on time. Imagine preparing for months, travelling long hours, only to be told “you can’t go in.” Frustrating, right?
In Gurugram, the situation went worse. Server crashed. Systems failed. Students were left waiting outside like it was some cruel joke. Some shouted slogans, others just sat down helpless.
The story didn’t stop there. In Jammu, today’s exam was simply called off. Reason? “Technical glitches.” That’s it. No detailed explanation. Jaipur also reported a centre where the exam didn’t happen at all. The situation escalated so badly that police had to step in for crowd control.
And then came the official word. SSC Chairman S Gopalakrishnan spoke to NDTV. He tried to calm things down:
“Out of 227 centres, 215 went smoothly. But yes, one big centre in Gurgaon failed us. Mismanagement. Old devices crashing at the last minute. We had to drop it.”
He added a promise too. Within 10 days, new centres will be allotted in Delhi-NCR. Specifically, the problematic MM centre in Gurgaon will be replaced.
But for aspirants, the question lingers. Will these fixes come in time? Or will their months of hard work remain hanging in uncertainty?

He went on to explain what really happened in Jammu and a few other centres. According to him, it wasn’t a system-wide disaster but rather “minor technical issues.” “See, when you keep adding new features, small errors are bound to show up,” he said. The bigger worry, he pointed out, lies elsewhere. Outdated networks. Old switches. Machines that simply can’t handle the load. “If 215 centres run fine and just 12 break down, then clearly the problem is with how those specific centres are managed,” he added.
On the buzz around cancellations, he was firm. Only SSC can cancel an exam, not an individual centre. “Let me be clear—an official cancellation notice comes only from SSC. Nobody else has that authority.”

SSC Chairman Breaks His Silence-SSC Exam Cancelled?
With the uproar spreading across social media, SSC Chairman S Gopalakrishnan finally responded. Speaking to NDTV, he admitted that not everything went as planned.
“The exam was conducted across 227 centres today. Out of these, 215 ran smoothly. But yes, at one major centre in Gurgaon, mismanagement and outdated devices caused severe issues. We had to drop that centre.”
He assured students that new exam centres in Delhi-NCR will be allotted within the next 10 days, with special focus on replacing the problematic MM Centre in Gurgaon.
What Happens Next?
The SSC has promised:
- New centres in Delhi-NCR within 10 days
- Replacement for the MM Centre in Gurgaon
- Closer monitoring of outdated systems
But aspirants now want more than promises. They want transparency, accountability, and above all, fairness.
Final Word
Sometimes a system can actually become an aspirant’s most cumbersome hurdle, a painful reality reiterated once more by the 2025 SSC CGL exam. The utterings of the Chairman are there; whether they are translated into reality or not is anybody’s guess.
To the aspirants, the fight is not just for one exam: it is for their future. And in that fight, clarity, efficiency, and respect are the bare minimum they deserve.
